Give It Up was very summery hit by KC & the Sunshine Band back in 1982. The Millennial Club's track under the same title also screams "beaches and yachts!" but in quite a different way.

Since November - Star System

How many people were underwhelmed by this year's Take That album? Probably not so many, because Wonderland swiftly went gold in the UK and is on course to go platinum before the end of the year. I don't know what Nordic countries make of that, but Finns from Since November provided good alternative for piano ballads like Patience with their single Star System.

As you should remember, I love dream pop and shoegaze. 2017 is another interesting year for those genres. We already got new albums from Slowdive and The Jesus & Mary Chains, as well as Oasis covers' EP from Yumi Zouma. Ride and Beach House will soon follow suit.

Hugh - Love, Hugh LP

One day in 2014 Kasia from good Polish blog Zapetlone decided to dedicate some songs to the people who asked for it. I got a song by London duo Hugh. Sadly, I can't recall what it was but my money is on I Can't Figure You Out. I liked the song 'though she warned me that 'it might be too lighweight for me' (the word someone understands in a different way, heh) Not many people recommend me songs, so I knew from the start that I would never forget this band.

Welsh singer Rod Thomas known under the alias Bright Light Bright Light is so prolific that not all his output reasonates equally with me, but boy when he hits me, he hits me hard.

Most of the people I know would stone me for such statement, but I really never liked Ladytron.
