As you should remember, I love dream pop and shoegaze. 2017 is another interesting year for those genres. We already got new albums from Slowdive and The Jesus & Mary Chains, as well as Oasis covers' EP from Yumi Zouma. Ride and Beach House will soon follow suit.
Jangly rock maintains its international character - recently friends helped me discover Japanese Kinoko Teikoku and Turkish The Away Days.
If following playlist is not enough for you, try Relapse EP by Geowulf or Highway Moon LP by Best Youth - both with gorgeous female vocals and strong hooks. If you have time for only one track from this selection, I suggest Crazy by Postiljonen because I have a feeling that this link could go down first ;)
And if too much of dream pop makes you sleepy, you may recharge your batteries with the best blog submission I received recently - Gold by WASI (Merilou Salazar and Jessie Meehan from Los Angeles). They describe their sound as Matt and Kim meets Blink 182...and they are atypically right as far as such self-descrpitions go. The whole EP Coup can be streamed on SoundCloud.
