Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the probably most sensitive, unimstakably feminine indie pop song of 2016. One of those songs I would feel very guilty of not sharing.
Norway-born Marte Solbakken was previously recording on the more rock end of pop spectre: with her San Francisco band Waters and solo as Elskling. Now she lives in Los Angeles and started another chapter of her career with the production help of The Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner (blonde singer/guitarist co-helmed record I can recommend - Dum Dum Girls' Too True). Lilyer's first single I Was on Your Side drifts somewhere between classics from Drive soundtrack and Pet Shop Boys' Rent. You can sense that one hell of a personal heartbreak came into such a strong songwriting. So let the healing begin.
