Top Retro odc. 23-26

Powrót do tworzenia Topu Retro okazał się łatwiejszy niż przypuszczałem. Kluczowa okazała się decyzja o ograniczeniu tylko o pięć - do czterdziestu. Pozwoliło to niektórym z pośrednich niedawnych liderów odejść z większą klasą, niż się zanosiło.

Tym, którzy nie czytali poprzedniego postu, informuję, że notowania 23 i 24 powstały w 2014 r., zaś kolejne dwa stanowią próbę wyobrażenia sobie, jaka byłaby przyszłość tej zabawy, gdyby doczekała się szybkiej kontynuacji. W kolejnym na pewno będzie więcej odniesień do muzyki, której słuchałem w ostatnich miesiącach, ponieważ na słuchanie części obecnie wykonawców nie mam obecnie nastroju (Sunscreem, Slowdive, J&MC) lub widziałbym ich tu z innymi utworami (np. Talk Talk, Janet Jackson). Na razie wstawiłem kilka piosenek na zasadzie "dziwne, że ich tu jeszcze nie było". Przede wszystkim myślę tu o jednym z największych przebojów Tears For Fears z przezabawnym teledyskiem, ale także o dotychczasowej nieobecności Madonny i Celine Dion. Obydwie panie zaczynają od dość patetycznych ballad; w przypadku Celine to kolejne na tej liście dzieło Jima Steinmana. Z kolei Madonna w klipie do Rain wyjątkowo przypomina mi moją mamę z tamtych czasów, może to kwestia inspiracji?

Nie zabrakło także silnej reprezentacji nowej fali. O Freiheit, w tym o ich próbie podbicia rynków anglojęzycznych, już pisałem na blogu szczegółowo. The Venetians to australijska kapela, aczkolwiek jej lider Rik Swainn urodził się i wychował we Wielkiej Brytanii. Oczywiście, tekst ich debiutanckiego singla może wydawać się rasistowski, ale o ile pamiętam coś z zajęć na stosunkach międzynarodowych, opisuje dość wiernie szpiegowskie realia... The Comsat Angels to uważany za inspirację zarówno dla klasycznego shoegaze, jak i grupy typu Editors zespół z Sheffield z długimi tradycjami (powstali w 1978 r.), który przynajmniej ten utwór sytuuje w tej samej kategorii "dlaczego U2 się przebiło, a nie oni?", co Big Country oraz Echo & The Bunnymen.

Nowości z dwóch pierwszych notowań znalazły się w playliście z poprzedniego postu, ostatnia siódemka zostanie uwzględniona w kolejnym wpisie tego typu. Postanowiłem, że w Topie Retro będą pojawiały się utwory liczące sobie co najmniej 20 lat, czyli jak na razie - pochodzące z 2000 r. i starsze.
