If you asked me, which announcements of concerts of foreign pop acts in Poland in 2017 made me happy - my quite unorthodox answer is: Blossoms, LANY and George Maple (c'mon: Lana Del Rey is too obvious!)
Sensual Australian singer (real name: Jess Higgs) will play Smolna club at the very heart of Warsaw on May 26th. So far, she is known mostly for her song Talk Talk that premiered in 2014 as a teaser for Vacant Space EP but was remade for DJ Snake album Encore last year. George also collaborated with Flume on Bring You Down and That Look.
Lover and a month ago Kryptonite followed. Bonafide soulful disco banger follows subdued introduction that reminds us why this lady has been frequently compared to Jessie Ware. Video by Lisa Paclet (credits include Wrong Club by The Ting Tings, Glory by Jean-Michel Jarre & M83 and lots of advertisement work) was filmed in Kyiv and features 50 people selected in impromtu casting. I have a feeling that incoming LP will set clubland on fire! But we don't have too many details yet.
